Jillian Jiggs (the first book) is my very most FAVORITE children's book. Pheobe Gilman went on to write more, which are also darling. The one my husband was referring to was this one.
Jillian Jiggs finds some pink socks and of course she has to make some stuffed pigs. Because that is the obvious thing to do with pink socks.
She makes a ton. They are all different. And they all have names.
Well, not only is she crafty, but she is a budding entrepreneur (thank you spell check!) and she decides to sell them. Who couldn't use an extra buck?
Well the kids come a runnin'. They know a good deal when they see one. But was Jillian happy?
Nope. How could she part with her piggy friends? Oh, the drama! ( I love this picture)
So she teaches everyone how to make them instead.
I love that not only my husband called me out, but QUOTED the book to me (it is my kids' favorite series as well so it get read a lot). I just realized how many times I used parenthesis (thanks again spell check).
What can I say, I (heart) parenthesis.
So I may only keep one. Momma's got bills to pay ya know. And some of you might be lucky enough to have one of his friends.
Haha! Why have I never heard of this book? It is so me.
ReplyDeleteI'm Jillian Jiggs too. My husband keeps telling me to open a store, but I usually just give my stuff away. Thanks for sharing the book, I hadn't heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GAWD!!! This was my favorite book when I was a kid. I was freaking obsessed with it! Thank you thank you thank you so much! I couldn't for the life of my remember what it was called, my copy was ruined, I haven't been able to find it because I can't remember, and now I can find it for my kids.
ReplyDelete(In case you can't tell, I'm super excited and geeking out a bit over this.)

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and cluing me in on a new book to read to my kids!
Never heard of that book, but the pictures look adorable. Also adorable are your snowmen. I used to sell things too and would always tell myself I'd make another one for myself one day, which of course I never got around to. If you love them that much, take good pictures and you can always enjoy them that way.
